FBI announces arrest of Texas mother charged with murdering child

() A Texas woman wanted on state charges for the murder of her missing six-year-old son has been arrested in India, the FBI announced Thursday.

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed the capture of Cindy Rodriguez Singh through a post on X, mentioning, “this marks the 4th arrest of a ’10 Most Wanted’ fugitive in the past 7 months.”

The FBI reports that the Everman Police Department conducted a welfare check in March 2023 on Rodriguez Singh’s child, who was last seen in October 2022. Rodriguez Singh allegedly misled investigators regarding the child’s location before flying to India with her husband and other children shortly afterward.

In October 2023, a district court in Fort Worth, Texas, charged Rodriguez Singh with capital murder, issuing an arrest warrant the following November. Additionally, Rodriguez Singh faces charges for “Unlawful Flight to Avoid Persecution.” The child’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Patel attributes the arrest to international collaboration, lauding the “outstanding field work, law enforcement partners, intelligence agents, and an administration that empowers competent officers to perform their duties.”
