WASHINGTON (AP) — Toyota is recalling almost 400,000 vehicles due to an issue where the rearview camera might not function while reversing, which raises the risk of an accident, as stated by federal traffic safety regulators.

The recall includes 2022-2025 Toyota Tundras and Tundra hybrids as well as 2023-2025 Sequoia hybrids. The total number of vehicles affected is 393,838, with the majority being non-hybrid Tundras.

The camera display malfunction is caused by a software problem, which will be fixed with an update by dealerships free of charge.

Toyota plans to mail owner notification letters on November 16. Vehicle owners can reach out to Toyota’s customer service by calling 1-800-331-4331. The recall numbers are 25TB10 and 25TA10.

Additionally, owners can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration vehicle safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-888-275-9171), or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
