Travelers standing on highway after fiery St. Johns crash closed all I-95 lanes (FL511)

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla – A serious traffic incident has led to the closure of both northbound and southbound lanes on Interstate 95, stretching from State Road 206 to State Road 207 in St. Johns County. The crash involved two vehicles, one of which was a semi truck that caught fire, as reported by News 6’s partner, WJXT.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue teams were quick to respond to the scene on Sunday afternoon, battling the blaze that engulfed the semi truck. By 3:36 p.m., firefighters had successfully extinguished the flames, yet the highway lanes remained blocked, causing significant traffic delays.

Motorists found themselves at a standstill, with many stepping out of their vehicles to assess the situation and await the clearance of the crash site. The scene created a ripple effect of congestion, prompting authorities to advise drivers to avoid the area and consider alternate routes to reach their destinations.

The situation remains fluid, and updates will follow as more information becomes available.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

    This is developing.
