SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A significant law enforcement presence on State Road 417 resulted in its partial closure on Saturday afternoon over Lake Jesup in Seminole County, according to the sheriff’s office.

S.R. 417 northbound was closed from State Road 434 to Lake Mary Boulevard, as announced by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office around 2 p.m. on social media.

In an update shared in less than two hours, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office explained that the road was shut down due to a suicide investigation, noting that the northbound lanes were likely to remain closed for an extended period.

While there was said to be no threat to public safety, the post suggested that drivers seek alternate routes.
