ORANGE COUNTY, Fla – A tragic accident on Epcot Center Drive claimed the life of a driver on Friday night, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident involved a 2023 Hyundai Elantra, which was heading north on Epcot Center Drive, just beyond Overpass Road. Authorities indicated that the driver exceeded the speed limit and lost control while navigating a curve.

As a result, the vehicle veered off the road to the northwest side and collided with a tree, according to the FHP. The collision was so severe that the car was engulfed in flames.

Emergency responders declared the driver deceased at the scene. The medical examiner is working to confirm the driver’s identity and will update the Florida Highway Patrol once the identification is complete.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation by the authorities.
