BUCHANAN COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — Authorities have made an arrest following the investigation into the tragic death of a juvenile in Buchanan County earlier this year.
On Wednesday, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) revealed that Logan Curtis Boyd is facing charges of felony murder and felony child abuse and neglect.
Boyd’s arrest came in the wake of an inquiry into the death of a young individual in the Vansant region, which took place on July 2, 2025.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that Boyd is currently detained without the possibility of bond.
Due to the sensitive nature of the case, the BCSO has refrained from releasing additional details at this time. However, they assured that further information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
Buchanan County Sheriff Allen Boyd emphasized the dedication of the sheriff’s office and the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney to achieving justice for the victim. “We remain committed to conducting a thorough and comprehensive investigation,” Sheriff Boyd stated in a press release.
