APOPKA, Fla. – The tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals at Griffin’s General Store in Apopka last week has been officially classified as a “domestic murder-suicide” involving siblings, as confirmed by the Apopka Police Department in a final update on Monday.
Authorities reported receiving a distress call shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday at the store, which is situated at 262 W. Michael Gladden Blvd.
After thorough investigation, police concluded that the suspect shot and killed his sister before turning the gun on himself. Evidence gathered from the scene, along with witness accounts and forensic analysis, indicated that the tragic event was a domestic violence case confined to family members.

On Sunday, News 6 visited the location and spoke with Clinton Stanley, a customer of the store.
“I’m just heartbroken that someone I considered both a friend and a sister is no longer with us,” Stanley expressed.
Apopka police ask anyone experiencing domestic violence or family conflict is encouraged to seek help through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1‑800‑799‑7233 or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
No other information was released, including the siblings’ names.
