BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic incident claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol on Saturday afternoon.
The fatal accident took place at mile marker 228 on I-95 around 4:45 p.m., according to troopers.
The crash report details that a Yamaha FJR1300 was heading southbound on I-95, just south of Deering Parkway, occupying the inside lane.
Eyewitnesses indicated that the rider was exceeding the speed limit and was unable to safely navigate a bend in the road.
The Florida Highway Patrol stated that this misjudgment led the motorcycle to veer off the road to the left, where it collided with a guardrail.
As described in the report, the force of the collision ejected the motorcyclist from the vehicle.
Troopers said the motorcyclist, identified as a 52-year-old Winter Springs man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
