() A high school student is dead in Arizona, and another is in police custody after a classroom fight escalated Tuesday, according to Phoenix police.

A school safety officer responded to reports of an assault in a classroom at Maryvale High School just before 11 a.m.

Authorities said two students were involved the suspect, who was detained with injuries, and a second student “suffering from multiple stab wounds.”
