In a tragic incident early Sunday morning, two teenagers lost their lives after a vehicle veered off County Road 565, colliding with several trees and subsequently catching fire. This heartbreaking event was reported by investigators from the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the agency’s report, the accident occurred around 12:48 a.m. on March 8, at the intersection of County Road 565 and Sloans Ridge Road. A 2018 Dodge Challenger, heading south, lost control and careened off the road, crashing into multiple trees.
The impact of the crash led to the car being engulfed in flames, resulting in the deaths of both occupants. The driver was identified as a 19-year-old male from Mascotte, while the passenger was a 17-year-old, also from Mascotte. Their names have not been released by the authorities.
As the investigation into the cause of the crash continues, officials have yet to provide further details. This incident serves as a somber reminder of the unpredictable nature of road travel and the importance of road safety.
