Tragic Shooting Claims Life of Teenager in Rockledge

A tragic incident unfolded in Rockledge, Florida, on Saturday as a 17-year-old was fatally shot, according to local authorities.

The shooting occurred in the 800 block of Ferndale Avenue, located near Fiske Boulevard, just southwest of the intersection of U.S. 1 and State Road 520.

Law enforcement officials responded to a call at a nearby residence. The teenage victim was subsequently transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where they sadly succumbed to their injuries.

At this time, police have not disclosed further information regarding the victim’s identity, including their name or gender.

The investigation is ongoing, but police believe this was an isolated event.

In other local news: Demolition has begun at the site of the former hospital in Rockledge.

“Our thoughts are with the juvenile’s family,” police said in a statement.
