CLEVELAND (WJW) — Authorities in Cleveland are delving into the details of a tragic early morning shooting that left two individuals dead and two others injured, according to information obtained by the FOX 8 I-Team.
The incident unfolded around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, near 7025 Fleet Ave., close to a Sunoco gas station in Cleveland’s Slavic Village area.
Police confirmed that the two fatalities occurred at the scene, while the injured parties were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical care.
The deceased victims were identified as two men, aged 37 and 46. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office later named the 37-year-old as Deon Stallings, a resident of Cleveland.
The victims who were injured are also both men, ages 31 and 34.
“Preliminary information indicates that an altercation occurred between several individuals at this location prior to the shooting,” reads a news release from police. “Detectives recovered two firearms and are actively reviewing evidence to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident.”
