Man arrested following hours-long standoff after allegedly breaking into Teutopolis apartment

MAROA, Ill. (WCIA) — A tragic two-vehicle collision in Maroa claimed the life of a 69-year-old woman on Thursday afternoon.

Lieutenant Scott Flannery from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Emergency responders, including members of the Maroa Police Department and Illinois State Police, were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance.
