The NFL might be back Thursday night, but people are still focused on the “engagement heard ’round the world” between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

Before the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Los Angeles Chargers for their season opener in Brazil on Friday night, Kelce engaged with the media to discuss the upcoming season.

As his media session was concluding, an ESPN Brazil reporter managed to ask Kelce a question regarding his highly-publicized activities off the field.

The journalist inquired, “How has your life transformed over the past few years?” alluding to Kelce’s popular podcast “New Heights,” co-hosted with his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, alongside his romance with pop icon Swift.

“With all these events away from football, can you explain the changes in your life?” the reporter continued, questioning if focusing on football amidst these distractions posed a challenge for Kelce.

Before Kelce could respond, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes clarified that the “off-field events” pertained to Kelce’s recent engagement to Swift, a milestone the couple shared on Instagram on August 26.

“I got one more ring from it,” Kelce joked. “Two if we’re counting the first Super Bowl.”

“Ever since I’ve been with Taylor, life has been fun. You know, it’s been exciting,” Kelce added.

He acknowledged that there are “a lot more eyes” since they began dating about two years ago, “and I accept that.”

But he added that he’s just “living on a high.”

Mahomes added: “It’s a dream, dude.”

Another reporter then asked Kelce whether this season is his “last dance.”

“It’s the last one on the contract right now, but I’ll tell you what, I’m feeling young and I’m feeling ready to rock, baby,” he replied.
