MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A man, aged 54, lost his life in a two-car collision in Marion County on Saturday morning, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened at S.R. 200 and SW 140th Street around 8:40 a.m.

The crash report indicated that an SUV operated by a 22-year-old woman from Dunnellon was moving west on SW 140th Street towards the intersection with S.R. 200.

Meanwhile, another SUV was heading north on S.R. 200 towards the same intersection when the first SUV did not stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection, leading to a crash.

Troopers reported that the Dunnellon woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. A 1-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the first SUV, was also taken to the hospital, though the FHP did not specify whether she was injured or not.

The driver of the second SUV, identified as a 54-year-old Citrus Springs man, was pronounced dead at the hospital, troopers said.

No other information was released.
