Semi-truck fire briefly shuts down part of I-57 in Iroquois Co.

IROQUOIS COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A section of Interstate 57 was shut down for approximately two hours in Iroquois County on Monday evening due to a semi-truck catching fire.

Illinois State Police reported at around 5:40 p.m. that officers were managing a semi-truck fire on I-57 near mile marker 300, just south of Chebanse. The southbound lanes of I-57 were closed, and traffic was diverted at the Chebanse exit while efforts were made to clear the truck and the wreckage.
