DENVER (KDVR) New information is shedding light on the case of a missing Aurora man whose truck was found in Broomfield on May 2 and who hasn’t been heard from by family since late April.

Paul Aragon, 34, was reported missing by his mother on May 8. However, many questions surround his disappearance.

Police said that Aragon was living in his truck when he went missing, and is from the Aurora area. He is believed to have been working in Lakewood or Littleton.

However, police discovered his pickup truck at 3:15 a.m. on May 2 in a construction area off Edgeview Drive near the WoodSpring Suites. The truck’s engine was reportedly still running, its lights were on and a dog was inside.

Police said they searched the surrounding area on foot and with a drone, but found nothing. Aragon was not staying at the hotel and did not answer his phone when officers tried to reach him.

On May 3, just after midnight, a second officer checked on the vehicle and discovered the dog was still inside. Because of concerns for the dog’s welfare, the animal was taken from the truck and placed at a local shelter. That was also when police notified Aragon’s mother of the dog being located.

“Five days later, the police department was contacted by his mother who wanted to report Paul missing,” the agency reported on Tuesday. “She told detectives she had not heard from him since April 28 or 29 and that he ‘no-showed’ for work on May 5. An official report was filed, and a bulletin was sent to surrounding law enforcement agencies.”

Since then, the department has been following up on tips and leads sent in. Detectives are in regular communication with Aragon’s mother and said she’s the family’s primary contact.

“We understand that there may be additional questions or concerns. We kindly ask for your patience as many of the details are confidential and cannot be shared at this stage,” the police department said.

Anyone with information about Aragon or his disappearance is asked to contact Detective Coleman at 303-438-6400 or acoleman@broomfield.org.
