Trump demands data from drug companies on success of COVID drugs

Trump Requests COVID Drug Efficacy Data from Pharmaceutical Firms

() President Donald Trump has called on pharmaceutical companies to release data that points to the success rate of their “various COVID drugs.”

In a Truth Social post, Trump mentioned there’s a debate regarding the effectiveness of the drugs in saving lives, claiming he’s encountered “remarkable” insights “from Pfizer, among others” that haven’t been shared publicly.

“They present me with IMPRESSIVE statistics and outcomes, yet they appear reluctant to share them with many others,” Trump stated. “I urge them to disclose this information NOW to the CDC and the public, and resolve this CONFUSION, one way or another!!!”

He did not clarify what drugs he wanted to see data on, whether it be vaccinations or the anti-viral medication Paxlovid.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) reported that, upon their release, mRNA COVID-19 vaccines had a 94.6% efficacy rate, and Paxlovid cut the risk of death or hospitalization from COVID-19 by 78%.
