At least 15 arrested during protests at Broadview ICE facility

President Donald Trump has taken an urgent step by filing an emergency petition with the Supreme Court, seeking approval to deploy the National Guard to Chicago. This request comes in response to intense protests against military-style immigration raids within the city.

Trump is challenging a previous decision by a lower court judge that temporarily halted the deployment of the National Guard to Chicago for a period of at least two weeks.

A district court judge had issued this temporary restraining order, arguing that there was insufficient evidence of a “danger of rebellion” that would warrant such a military presence in Illinois.
