WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — Authorities in Washington County, Virginia, detained two individuals after deputies allegedly discovered numerous firearms and drugs in a residence.
The Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) stated that a search warrant was carried out at a residence on the 17000 block of Black Hollow Rd on Wednesday afternoon.
A WCSO news release states Larry Wayne Ketchum, 69, of Abingdon, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance
- Possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I or II drug
During the home search, Steven Brian Cordell, 52, from Abingdon, was found. According to the WCSO, Cordell had an active arrest warrant and was in possession of methamphetamine.
Cordell was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The sheriff’s office stated in the release that multiple firearms were seized during the search of the home. One of those firearms was reported stolen from outside of Virginia, the WCSO reports.
As of Thursday, both Ketchum and Cordell were being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
