ORLANDO, Fla. – Diabetes, a stealthy health menace, impacts countless individuals, many of whom remain unaware of their condition. To combat this, AdventHealth is taking proactive measures by offering straightforward and speedy screenings at their Primary Care Plus locations, aiming to identify diabetes early within the community.

“Diabetes prevalence is alarmingly high, yet symptoms are often absent,” remarked Dr. Timothy Hendricks, chief medical officer at AdventHealth Retail Services. “Screening is the only way to uncover it.”

The process is simple: a quick finger prick assesses your blood sugar levels. If the result exceeds 100, it could indicate prediabetes or diabetes, warranting a follow-up consultation with your physician.

Recognizing the escalating risk among younger demographics, AdventHealth is extending screenings to children as young as 10.

Screening is a crucial step in taking charge of your health. Beyond testing, AdventHealth provides educational resources and links to specialists who can assist in managing or preventing diabetes through dietary, lifestyle, and medical interventions.

Don’t wait for symptoms to manifest. If you’re 10 or older, book your diabetes screening at any AdventHealth Primary Care Plus office. Early detection is key to safeguarding your well-being.

To learn more or make an appointment, visit adventhealth.com or call your local AdventHealth office.
