VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Concerns are mounting in Volusia County as authorities continue to search for a man who vanished without a trace after being released from jail earlier this year. Randy Richmond has not been heard from since February 8, 2025, sparking worry among his family and local law enforcement.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office initially flagged Richmond’s disappearance on social media, emphasizing the unusual nature of his communication blackout, particularly given his routine contacts with family. Richmond’s family is deeply concerned for his safety, citing existing health problems that could exacerbate his current situation.

Currently homeless and without a vehicle, Richmond reportedly frequents the New Smyrna Beach area. Despite thorough searches by deputies and checks of local hospitals, there have been no leads on his whereabouts, according to the sheriff’s office.

The community is urged to remain vigilant. Anyone with information about Richmond’s location is encouraged to reach out to Detective Salinas via email at SSalinas@volusiasheriff.gov or contact the sheriff’s office directly at their non-emergency number, 386-248-1777.
