BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. () — Anticipating the return of students to the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) campus this weekend, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has issued a traffic advisory.

More than 1,000 students will move in to USCB Saturday and Sunday between the two campuses of Beaufort and Bluffton.

Move-ins are scheduled to start on Saturday, Aug. 16, running from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. On the Bluffton campus, a portion of students will also be arriving on Sunday between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Traffic delays and congestion are expected near the Bluffton campus as well as around the New River Shopping Center. The East Campus Drive entrance to the campus will remain closed to all vehicles throughout the weekend.

Similar delays can be expected for the Beaufort campus near Newcastle, Calhoun and Church Streets.

Travelers are advised to seek alternate routes, allow for extra time and proceed with caution.
