VALDOSTA, Ga. () — The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) is seeking assistance in locating a wanted man for battery and child cruelty.

Freddie Moore is being sought by authorities for aggravated battery and two charges of first-degree cruelty to children. His whereabouts are currently unknown, and he has not participated in the investigation.

Freddie Moore, 27

On June 18, VPD responded to a call about possible child abuse. Two three-week-old twins had injuries that prompted treatment from the hospital.

The children’s mother has been apprehended on two felony charges of first-degree cruelty to children. Detectives have issued warrants for Moore, who is identified as the children’s father.

One of the twins was treated and released from the hospital, while the other has been stabilized but remains in critical condition.

Police Chief Leslie Manahan expressed, “The injuries inflicted on these innocent children were appalling. It’s beyond belief that someone could harm young children in such a manner. We urge the public to assist us in locating this individual, so he can face the consequences of his actions.”

The VPD is asking for the public’s help in locating Moore. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911, contacts the VPD Bureau of Investigative Services at 229-293-3145, the crime tip line at 229-293-3091 or file a tip online at valdostacity.com/police-department
