In the heart of Poland, Ohio, Nicole Morrone defies expectations with her intricate and vibrant tattoo artistry, despite being legally blind since birth. Her story is one of perseverance and passion, illustrating how limitations can be transcended through dedication and creativity.

Born with several ocular conditions, including nystagmus, Morrone faces significant visual challenges. Her eyes exhibit constant movement and struggle to focus on distant objects. “I can only see clearly a few inches in front of me,” she explains. With a vision measurement of 20/400, she is unable to drive legally. Yet, her fascination with tattooing, which began in high school, never waned.

While Morrone’s vision restricts her in some areas, it hasn’t hindered her artistic journey. After earning a degree in studio art and exploring various career paths, she ventured into the world of tattooing two years ago. Her determination caught the attention of the owner of Trademarked Society Tattoo in Poland, who offered her an apprenticeship that would change her life.
