JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Washington County Board of Education selected an agency to sell the old Jonesborough Elementary School.
During a board meeting on Thursday night, the decision was made to collaborate with TCI Real Estate Group, a regional commercial real estate agency, to assist in selling the property.
“The board intends to ensure the property benefits the community in some way,” expressed Superintendent Jerry Boyd. “However, the main objective of employing a commercial real estate agent is to secure the best price for the property, benefiting the citizens of Washington County.”
Boyd mentioned that the proceeds from the sale are earmarked for future expansions at Daniel Boone High School, and plans are in place to renovate the land behind the middle school for community use with the aid of a recreation grant.
