JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man from Johnson City faced arrest when officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office tried to serve him with a warrant.

Authorities took 41-year-old Matthew C. Combs into custody after locating his vehicle on Limestone Ruritan Road’s 100 block. The warrant was due to a probation violation.

Combs reportedly “jerked away” from the deputies and began inhaling from a can of air duster, according to the WCSO.

Combs obstructed the deputies’ efforts to secure him, persisting in resisting arrest. Consequently, officers deployed a taser to apprehend him, according to the WCSO. Reports indicated that several air duster cans were found on the front passenger seat of Combs’s car.

Combs was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and is being held without bond for violating probation. His bond was set to $12,500 for the new charges. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.
