Friday Night Blitz 2025 Week 1 scores, highlights

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — It’s the sixth week of Friday Night Blitz! Here’s a rundown of what happened under the Friday night lights.

The Game of the Week lived up to the hype. Jenkins avenged last year’s overtime loss to Calvary Day, 41-33.

The defining moment of the game took place late in the fourth quarter. Calvary Day scored, narrowing the gap to five points at 35-30, and with 2:47 left, attempted an onside kick.

Calvary Day seemed to initially recover the kick and gain possession. However, officials gathered and decided that the Cavaliers touched the ball before it traveled the required 10 yards. As per the rules, Calvary Day was penalized for illegal touching, granting Jenkins possession.

Jenkins took advantage of the call and put the game away on a Demetrius Holloway touchdown run.

At Savannah Country Day, the Hornets were behind 14-0 in the second quarter but managed a comeback victory. They outscored Tattnall County, 34-7, for the rest of the game, ultimately winning 34-21.
