()  New details have emerged as to how Bryan Kohberger snuck into a Moscow, Idaho, home before killing four students Nov. 13, 2022.

Following Kohberger’s sentencing hearing Wednesday, police released incident reports from the night of the stabbing murders of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.

Responding Moscow Police Department Officer Mitch Nunes said in a report, “footsteps went to and from the rear slider door. I observed the trail of foot steps head away from the slider then turn right, around a stump, in the back yard and lead toward the front of the house.”

“I observed a set of small hand prints on the window to the east of the slider. The screen to this window appeared damaged and was laying on the ground. I located smudged finger prints on the glass slider door,” he added.

Several people also had access to a code for the Moscow home, with one source telling authorities, “More people knew the code to their door than they should have,” and people were frequently coming in and out of 1122 King Road. The source was unsure if the rear sliding door was regularly locked.

A neighbor of the victims told police that he noticed the front door to the home was “wide open” the morning after the murders.

He acknowledged it was a “party house so assumed someone was too intoxicated and forgot to close the door the night prior.”
