() Crews in California are working to control a rapidly spreading wildfire that broke out Thursday afternoon near the Ventura-Los Angeles county line.

Dubbed the Canyon Fire, the flames broke out around 1:30 p.m. local time Thursday in the mountains north of Los Angeles near Lake Piru. As of Friday morning, flames have engulfed more than 4,800 acres, according to fire officials. affiliate KTLA reported that fire containment remained at 0%, with more than 400 fire personnel working onsite.

No injuries have been reported, and no residences have been damaged, according to the LA County Fire Department.

Evacuation orders and warnings were issued overnight for the surrounding areas. According to the Ventura County Fire Department, 2,700 LA County residents had evacuated as of Thursday night, with warnings in place for an additional 14,000 residents and 5,000 structures.

LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger urged residents to follow evacuation orders.

“Extreme heat and low humidity in our north county have created dangerous conditions where flames can spread with alarming speed,” Barger said in a statement to the Associated Press. “If first responders tell you to leave, go without hesitation.”

The Canyon Fire joins a growing list of fires that crews are battling across the state. In central California, the Gifford Fire has engulfed more than 99,000 acres and has become the state’s largest fire so far this year. It currently stands at 15% containment.
