Woman Captured After High-Speed Pursuit Across Several Counties

RICHMOND/COLUMBIA COUNTIES, Ga. () – At 10:25 a.m. on August 13th, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol units responded to a stolen vehicle report located at 1350 Walton Way.

A description of the vehicle was immediately broadcast to all deputies through 911 dispatch.

Deputy Dakota Clark spotted the stolen car traveling along Wrightsboro Road and called for backup before initiating a traffic stop. Despite turning on his blue lights and siren, the driver ignored the signal to stop, prompting a chase that extended from Richmond County into Columbia County, following the route of Washington Road.

The chase came to an end when the suspect drove into the Raceway located at the intersection of Stevens Creek and Washington Road. The suspect then tried to escape on foot, but law enforcement swiftly encircled her, resulting in an apprehension without any issues.

There were no injuries or property damage.

The suspect, identified as Amber Nelson, was arrested and transported to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
