Netflix is renewing Lucifer for the fifth season which will basically be the final season of the series.

In a recent interview, the showrunners, Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich expressed their gratitude towards Netflix, saying, “We are incredibly thankful to Netflix for reviving our shows last season. Also, we want to thank the fans for their full passion and support. We assure you that the best is yet to be witnessed.”

Lucifer Season 5: Release date

We are expecting that it might release in 2020, as there is no official news about the exact release date. Also, the fifth season will be split into two parts. As in a recent interview, Tom Ellis revealed that: “ The season five is going to be released in two parts. Netflix is going to drop eight episodes first, then after a little break, another eight episodes.”

Although, it might get a little delayed due to virus outbreak all over the world.

It is confirmed that we will see Tom Ellis as the lead character in the show. Other characters might include, Lauren German back as Detective Chloe Decker, alongside Kevin Alejandro as Detective Dan Espinoza, Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez, DB Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen and Scarlett Estevez as Trixie Espinoza, and Rachael Harris as Dr Linda Martin.

Lucifer Season 5: Plot

In season four, Lucifer tried to reclaim his throne and also defeated the demons, although he knew they would be back. But it’s not sure whether he will remain good throughout the show.

Talking about Chloe Decker (Lauren German), she was left by Lucifer in season four, but there are rumours that she would be back in the fifth season. As in a recent photograph shared by Tom, Ellis shows Chloe standing beside him during a shot, so there might be changes that she will be back in the show.
