Abrego Garcia's Wife Is Finally Asked About Domestic Abuse - Her Answer Tells You All You Need to Know

Democrats have been trying to paint Kilmar Abrego Garcia as a “Maryland father” and family man.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) even posted about how, after meeting with him in El Salvador, the senator would be passing along his “message of love” to his wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura.

But one of the problems with this narrative is the allegations of domestic abuse that she’s made against her husband.

In her 2021 filing for a protective order, she wrote about the alleged abuse, “At this point, I am afraid to be close to him. I have multiple photos/videos of how violent he can be and all the bruises he has left me.”

This is what she said in a statement on Wednesday about the allegations.

“After surviving domestic violence in a previous relationship, I acted out of caution following a disagreement with Kilmar by seeking a civil protective order, in case things escalated. Things did not escalate, and I decided not to follow through with the civil court process. We were able to work through the situation privately as a family, including by going to counseling,”

Notice, it doesn’t say he didn’t beat her, and it doesn’t really address the claims of multiple incidents, including allegedly hitting her with a work boot and hitting her in the eye.

As our Townhall sister site reported, she went on “Good Morning America” on Friday and claimed he was a “loving husband” and they were just trying to live the “American dream.”

So Michael Strahan asked her the obvious question about the alleged abuse, although he appeared reluctant to do so.

“I know this is a sensitive question, but I have to ask it. You did take out a temporary order of protection against your husband in 2021,” he said. “Were you in fear of your husband?”

“My husband is alive, um, that’s all I can say,” she replied.

“Okay,” Strahan said. “As you know, I’m not going to push you on that, apparently.”

Why is Strahan reluctant and not pushing the question? Why does he say “as you know” that he wasn’t going to push her? Was there a prior arrangement not to?

But her non-answer basically tells you everything you need to know. She doesn’t deny that there was abuse or that he hit her. She doesn’t even deny the fear. She just tries to avoid the question.

She really didn’t help the Democratic narrative with that answer.

But they’ve now boxed themselves into a corner on this matter, and they seem intent on going down on the “Maryland ma” claim with the American people.
