Mum-of-three, 29, reveals how she shed 42 kilos after giving birth in MONTHS –

A mother-of-three has revealed how she shed 42 kilograms after giving birth – going from a size 18 to a svelte size 8.

Melanie Lewis, 29, from Melbourne, tipped the scales at 108.9 kilograms and could barely walk around the park ‘without getting out of breath’ when she knew something had to change.

After she gave birth to her first child, Melanie decided she had to do something about it – and within 12 months, she had dropped 35 kilos and completely changed her physique.

‘I’m the lightest I’ve been in my adult life,’ Melanie told the leading Australian weight loss program The Healthy Mummy

Since then, Melanie has had two more kids, lost a total of 42 kilograms, and more importantly, she has kept it off and developed healthy habits for life.

Melanie said how she lost the staggering amount of weight is ‘simple – just hard work and dedication’.

Instead of eating fast food and soft drinks, she started to follow a keto diet filled with plenty of stir fries, leafy green veg, meat and avocado.

‘A typical breakfast is fried eggs, bacon and avocado and a smoothie with water, low carb almond milk, strawberries, protein powder, smoothie mix, chia seeds and spinach,’ she said.

At lunchtime, Melanie said she often eats roast chicken with baby cucumbers and sliced-up cheese.

‘Dinner now is something like beef stir fry with green beans topped on a green salad with a Healthy Mummy chocolate berry smoothie tweaked to make it keto-friendly,’ Melanie said.

She also eats lots of air-fried meals, including chicken cooked in the air fryer with brown rice, broccolini and green beans.

‘Yes I still have treats but I balance out the treats and don’t eat them every single day like I used to,’ she said.

‘You have to be 110 per cent committed that you want to make a change for yourself if you think you want to change.’
