A shooting in New York City on Saturday resulted in one fatality and left four people injured, with a teenager in critical condition, as per police reports.

Police officers arrived around 7:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting at the intersection of Burke Avenue and Wickham Avenue, close to Haffen Park, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the New York City Police Department to Fox News.

A 32-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his chest and a 17-year-old girl had suffered a gunshot wound to her face.

A 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were shot in their backs and are reported to be in stable condition. Additionally, a 42-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to his arm and is also in stable condition.

Police said four people were taken into custody and multiple guns were recovered.

The incident remains under investigation.

The shooting occurred near Haffen Park during a basketball tournament watched by a large crowd. The New York Post suggested that the incident may be linked to gang activity.
