Later Monday night, a 24-year-old woman was struck and killed by a northbound L train at the Union Square subway station, cops said.

Witnesses told officers that at around 10:20 p.m., the woman jumped down onto the tracks of her own accord.

But when the northbound train was pulling into the station, she scrambled to climb out, police said witnesses saw.

The reason for her jumping onto the tracks is unknown. The incident is still being investigated, but investigators currently do not suspect any criminal activity.
