SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Optimism on DeRenne Avenue, after Jenkins picked up its first win of the year against Groves on Aug. 30.

The Warriors come in at 1-1. They earned their first victory in dominant fashion last week. They stormed past the Rebels, 65-6.

On Friday, Jenkins will face Liberty County. The Panthers are perfect on the year at 2-0.

Head Coach Anthony Welch mentioned that his team struggles when they try to switch their intensity on and off. He emphasizes the importance of always playing at full capacity.

“Our region is significantly more challenging compared to Groves,” Welch explained. “So we had to focus on what was necessary to align ourselves and regain our winning ways. It’s crucial because with nine consecutive region games, there’s no room for error. We performed well in all aspects, and that’s the standard we must uphold every week, to excel in all areas.”

Jenkins will play Liberty County in Hinesville at 7:30 p.m. The game can be seen on the CW.
