JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people are in custody after a man in his 40s was found shot and killed in a driveway Tuesday on Jacksonville’s Westside, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Video from Sky4 Tuesday evening showed what appeared to be a victim slumped over in a wheelchair in the driveway and multiple units from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on the scene on Barracuda Road in the Jacksonville Heights area.

Police have not yet released any names of those involved.

JSO said while shots were being fired, EMTs were responding to another call, and shots were fired in their direction. A neighbor said he heard the gunshots.

“I was laying down. I get up for work at four in the morning I had ear plugs in and I heard shots,” James Gillingham said.

JSO said it found the man dead in his driveway.

Gillingham said there hasn’t been a lot of crime in his neighborhood, adding most of the violence seems to be on the other side of 103rd Street.

No other information about what happened has been released by JSO.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact JSO at 904-630-0500.
