Vanity Fair has found itself in the spotlight again, not for a recent profile, but for an astrology piece published nearly two decades ago that seems to have eerily anticipated the current political landscape. This article, which has resurfaced and gone viral, originally appeared in a 2006 issue.
The piece features insights from Vanity Fair’s astrologer at the time, Michael Lutin, who made predictions about the United States’ future, extending up to 2025, by analyzing Pluto’s return to the nation’s founding chart of 1776.
Readers have been left both amazed and unsettled by the accuracy of Lutin’s foresight. Among his predictions, one particularly ominous forecast still looms, yet to unfold.
Lutin anticipated a shift towards a “darker and much more conservative” atmosphere across the country.
He wrote, “Over the next 19 years or so, America as a Cancer nation will have to deal with troubling confrontations and competition such as it has never known.”
‘Over the next 19 years or so, America as a Cancer nation will have to deal with troubling confrontations and competition such as it has never known,’ he wrote.
He also theorized the nation will have an ‘internal political struggle’ that ‘will shake us to our very core.’
The astrologer continued: ‘The words “patriot” and “treason” will lose their meaning.’

‘In some cases, they will become interchangeable. What is treason to one person will be patriotism to another.’
Also included in the astrologer’s projections was a constitutional revamp for the ‘last half of the 2020s.’
‘It’s not going to be a matter of Democrat or Republican anymore, because the new ideologies will bleed across party lines,’ he said.
‘It is a necessary and inevitable step in the evolution of this country that will result in a reworking of the Constitution in the last half of the 2020s.
He concluded his ominous predictions by saying a country ‘gets the leaders it deserves.’
‘When we’re ready to rise from the ashes of a fallen empire, we will find the leaders to help us do so,’ read the article.
Shocked readers took to social media to share their thoughts on the article recently, and many were stunned over how similar Lutin’s predictions ended up being to our political climate today.
‘The part that caught my attention is the “reworking of the constitution in the last half of the 2020s” oh wow!’ wrote one user.

‘I’ve read this before and the accuracy always gets me,’ wrote another.
Another declared: ‘Astrology isn’t real … except for this Vanity Fair article from 2007.’
Vogue made headlines in December after it published a bombshell tell-all profile on Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff Wiles.
Wiles, 68, spoke with the publication over the course of the last year, likening Trump to her own late alcoholic father and legendary sportscaster Pat Summerall, noting the president has ‘an alcoholic’s personality.’
‘The president operates [with] a view that there’s nothing he can’t do. Nothing, zero, nothing,’ Wiles told journalist Chris Whipple.
Notably, Trump does not drink and has spoken about losing his older brother, Fred, to addiction and alcoholism.
The chief of staff also dished on Vice President Vance, noting his late MAGA conversion and early critiques of Trump. The VP, she added, has also been ‘a conspiracy theorist for a decade.’
