For the first time, CBS will broadcast the 2025 Video Music Awards, live from UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7 (8-11 PM, ET/5-8 PM PT), and streaming on Paramount+.
The three-hour broadcast will simulcast on MTV, and a one-hour live pre-show will air across Paramount Media Networks.
The 2024 VMAS delivered its biggest multi-network audience in four years, up 25% year-over-year, and ranked as the most social VMAs in show history, with 66.7 million social interactions. In addition to MTV, the show was also simulcast on BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land and VH1.
Taylor Swift, who came in with 10 nominations last year, led the pack at the awards show with five wins in total including Artists of the Year and Video of the Year for “Fortnight,” her duet with Post Malone. Other wins came from Ariana Grande, Eminem, Megan Thee Stallion and SZA. Sabrina Carpenter won Song of the Year (“Espresso”) while Chappell Roan won Best New Artist.
The 2025 nominations, performers and additional details will be announced closer to the show.
The 2025 VMAs are executive produced by Bruce Gillmer and Den of Thieves co-founder Jesse Ignjatovic. Barb Bialkowski is co-executive producer. Alicia Portugal and Jackie Barba are executives in charge of production. Wendy Plaut is executive in charge of celebrity talent. Lisa Lauricella is executive in charge of music talent.
