F train services were halted between W 4 St. in Greenwich Village and Coney Island on Tuesday morning. According to sources, this was due to a Brooklyn-bound D train running on the F line, which dragged debris along the third rail, leading to electrical arc blasts and smoke.

The incident also suspended service on the G line south of the Bedford-Nostrand station.

The train hit the debris somewhere near the Jay St. – Metrotech station in Downtown Brooklyn around 9:30 a.m., sources told the Daily News.

A passenger took to X Tuesday morning, claiming to have been on the train when the 600V arc of electricity occurred.

“I was on this train that sh-t blew up,” the user posted.

The FDNY firefighters were alerted to reports of smoke and loud noises at the location. An FDNY representative informed The News that the team managed to extinguish a minor garbage fire.

As reported by sources, the train was able to proceed to the Bergen Street station, one stop further, where all passengers were safely evacuated. There were no injuries reported.

The train was inspected there by work crews late Tuesday morning, before being sent to a yard for repairs.

In the meantime, F trains were running on the D line to Coney Island.
