Putnam County fire sends 3 to hospital

One man had to be taken to a Gainesville hospital for trauma injuries. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating arson as a possible cause.

INTERLACHEN, Fla. — Three individuals were transported to the hospital with injuries following a fire that Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies suspect may have been deliberately started inside a home in Interlachen on Sunday night.

Deputies said Putnam County firefighters responded to a residential fire on Kin Street in Interlachen around 9 p.m. Sunday.

One man was taken to a Gainesville hospital for trauma injuries. Two women were taken to area hospitals for injuries. 

The Putnam County fire marshal is currently at the scene. Deputies mentioned that there are claims of arson, and it is being looked into as a potential cause.

Deputies said no further information will be released Sunday.
