Alyssa Farah Griffin is recognized for bringing a distinct conservative viewpoint to The View. However, she has openly shared with her co-hosts how challenging this role has been for her since she became part of the panel in 2022.

During a conversation about a recent piece highlighting Gen Z workers using restrooms as “safe spaces” to relax during stressful or anxious moments at work, Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin struggled to relate to the concept of needing such spaces at work. In contrast, Griffin candidly revealed, “I do cry at work, but I make sure to keep it hidden so my bosses won’t find out… I’ve cried in this job at least six times.”

Hostin appeared shocked. “You cry at work?!” she asked Griffin, who responded with a laugh, “Are you kidding? Have you done this job?”

Griffin then joked that she has cried in “every corner of this building.”

Her co-hosts were surprised and inquired about the reasons behind her tears at work. Griffin explained that it’s largely because she’s often the sole host on The View advocating a more conservative stance during political discussions.

“This is a very hard job to do and I oftentimes have the only opinion that’s different at a table of five people,” she said.

She later added, “I would like to state for the record this is a great job and every time I have cried [executive producer Brian Teta] gives great hugs.”

Goldberg ended the segment by offering some “support” to Griffin and their co-hosts.

“The thing that shocks me there is nothing that people should able do to you to make you cry,” she said, to which Hostin agreed. Sara Haines then interjected to say, “Well, I have stuff to tell you.”

“Yes you do! You should. Let us support you, let us support you because nobody should be crying at this job,” Goldberg maintained.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
