‘Hands Off!’ events are slated for various times Saturday in Akron, Cleveland, Avon Lake, Strongsville, Kent, Ravenna, Cuyahoga Falls, Medina, Oberlin and more.
CLEVELAND — Saturday is being called a “national day of action” as “Hands Off!” rallies are scheduled to happen nationwide — including multiple locations in Northeast Ohio — with demonstrators showing their opposition to the recent policies and actions by President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
One of the “Hands Off!” events was set for Hardesty Park on West Market Street in Akron.
“Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them,” according to the event’s listing. “The Akron area is fighting back! They’re taking everything they can get their hands on — our health care, our data, our jobs, our services — and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now.”
“Hands Off!” events were also slated for various times Saturday in Cleveland, Avon Lake, Strongsville, Kent, Ravenna, Cuyahoga Falls, Medina, Oberlin and more. You can see a map of all the “Hands Off!” events with specific details HERE.
Organizers say their message to the world is “that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies.”
“Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country,” organizers say. “A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.”
