Adele is reportedly in talks to play the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show after she turned down performing in 2016.

Though not yet ‘officially booked’, the Hello singer, 37, is speculated to perform on the significant American stage for the big event in Santa Clara, California, next February, according to Page Six reports.

The 16-time Grammy Award winner previously turned down the performance in 2016 when she was asked to take the stage for the 2017 game.

At the time, Adele told a Los Angeles audience: ‘First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl… I mean, that show is not about music. I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no.’

The Skyfall singer has previously attended the Super Bowl game as a fan, accompanied by her fiancé Rich Paul, who is one of sports’ biggest agents.

In 2024, she told fans: ‘Last year I went, obviously I didn’t go for the football at all. I went to watch Rihanna.’

During a live show prior to the game, Adele also added: ‘I’m going just for Rihanna. I don’t give a flying f**k.’

Daily Mail has contacted Adele’s representatives for a comment.

The other rumoured A-listers next in line for the gig are pop icon Taylor Swift as well as Flowers hitmaker Miley Cyrus.

These reports come after it was revealed Adele has reportedly agreed to a multi-million pound deal to write a tell-all autobiography after years of declining offers from publishers.

In her next career move, she is rumoured to finally write a book detailing her astounding rise to fame.

The book will also touch on her personal life, from her childhood and attending the BRIT School to her love life and becoming a mum.

As well as her book, Adele is reportedly in discussions about heading back on the road for a world tour – and possibly releasing new music.

‘Publishers have been desperate to sign Adele to tell her story but she’s always said no,’ a source told The Sun.
