Officers and soldiers in the Nigerian Army have been told not to do anything illegal during the next general elections.
During a visit to the Guards Brigade, the Director of Exams for the Department of Army Standard and Evaluation (DASE), Brigadier General Adamu Yari Yakubu, gave the troops this warning.
The General and his team were in the Federal Capital Territory at the Brigade Forward Operations Base in Kwali Area Council (FCT).
Captain Geoffrey Abakpa, the Public Relations Officer for the Guards Brigade, said Yakubu told the soldiers to make sure that all voters had a safe and peaceful place to vote.
He praised how well the combined troops had planned and said, “synergy is key towards ensuring a hitch free election.”
