Amanda Seyfried found herself puzzled by Timothée Chalamet’s heartfelt expression of love for his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, during the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday.
The 40-year-old “Mean Girls” actress took to Instagram to share her confusion, admitting that Chalamet’s words initially led her to believe he was referring to a “charity.”
Chalamet, 30, who secured the Best Actor award for his role in “Marty Supreme,” delivered an emotional acceptance speech. During his remarks, he thanked his “partner,” a nod to Jenner, for their “foundation.”
His speech concluded with a memorable moment that quickly went viral. Gesturing towards Jenner, he said, “And lastly, thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
In response, the 28-year-old star of “The Kardashians” was seen mouthing “I love you” from the audience as the cameras captured the touching moment.
After actor Evan Ross Katz posted a snapshot of the moment along with Chalamet’s quote on Instagram, Seyfried commented, “OH not like a foundation/charity I was curious about that,” revealing her initial misunderstanding.

The Dune star was named Best Actor for Marty Supreme, and launched into an emotional acceptance speech, before thanking his billionaire mogul ‘partner’ for their ‘foundation’
One Instagram user reacted to Seyfried’s comment with laughing emojis while calling it ‘spicy’ as another joked ‘or foundation makeup who knows.’
Someone else concurred that Chalamet’s words ‘confused’ them as well.
Seyfried wasn’t the only celebrity whose reaction to the speech quickly went viral.
Michael B. Jordan’s poker-faced look instantly stole the spotlight when Chalamet took the stage and made his acceptance speech.
The moment erupted after Chalamet was named Best Actor for Marty Supreme, beating out Jordan for Sinners in a stacked category that also included Leonardo DiCaprio, Joel Edgerton, Ethan Hawke, and Wagner Moura.
As Chalamet launched into an emotional acceptance speech, clearly overwhelmed by the win, one camera lingered a little too long on Jordan’s face.
Stone-faced and unreadable, Jordan’s calm, almost bored expression quickly became the internet’s favorite subplot of the night.
Things escalated when another camera caught Chalamet tearing up mid-speech as he declared his love for Jenner, sending social media into a frenzy.

The loved-up appearance comes after the two recently broke their no-social-media rule as their relationship appeared to kick into overdrive.
Chalamet and Jenner continued to rock matching ensembles, though this time they put aside the flashy colors they wore to last month’s Marty Supreme premiere and instead favored classic glam.
Jenner put her famous curves on display in a shimmering black Versace dress with spaghetti straps that flaunted her cleavage.
The dress featured a grid-like pattern of black sequins covering its front and back, but the sides were decorated with more revealing black lace in delicate floral designs.
Chalamet was dressed in a tasteful suit with a classic vibe that seemed to be inspired by the 1950s-era costumes that he wore in his latest film Marty Supreme, in which he plays a rising table tennis star determined to prove himself against a successful Japanese pro.
He looked stylish in a navy double-breasted pinstripe suit paired with a classic white shirt and a multicolored tie reminiscent of a stained-glass design.
The couple’s matching dark ensembles were reminiscent of the coordinated all-black ensembles that they wore for many of their earliest red-carpet appearances as a couple, though the two — and especially Chalamet — have lately favored more eye-catching colors on the promotional trail for Marty Supreme.

Chalamet and Jenner highlighted their strong connection by holding hands as they arrived at the venue.
The Dune star led the way while Jenner followed slightly and affectionately grasped his hand with both of hers.
