EXCLUSIVE: Exactly 18 months on from October 7, Amazon has boarded a documentary showing powerful footage from the Nova music festival.
#Nova chronicles what happened at the festival minute-by-minute, when Hamas stormed the fest, killing more than 350 partygoers and kidnapping a further 44, 14 of whom returned alive, while 17 were murdered. The film portrays real-time reactions and emotions to the unfolding horror.
Having already aired on several networks around the world including Israel‘s yes TV, Amazon has now taken global on #Nova. The deal comes exactly 18 months on from that terrible day, the spark for the resulting Israel-Hamas War, with a ceasefire still being negotiated and more than 50,000 Palestinians having been killed according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
Yes Studios MD Sharon Levi said: “#NOVA is one of our most talked-about and controversial films, and always attracted a huge amount of interest when we held exclusive screenings at selected international venues. We may be exactly 18 months on from this terrible day, but with 59 hostages still being held and the images from the 7th October attacks still etched on our collective memories, #NOVA remains an important, unique and must-see film.”
The 52-minute #NOVA was produced by Kastina Communications for yes Docu, with Dan Pe’er directing. Yes Studios is the documentary’s international distributor. A number of other docs have been made about those tragic days in October including We Will Dance Again from Bad Boy studio Sipur and a feature about sexual atrocities committed by Hamas fronted by Sheryl Sandberg.
