CLEVELAND — Playhouse Square in Cleveland is ready for its next act as the iconic theater district officially unveils their new marquees during an event Thursday night — and singer Andy Grammer is joining in the moment.
The free event — titled “Marquee Moments” — begins at 5:30 p.m. on Euclid Avenue outside the Playhouse Square theaters.
3News will also be reporting live from the event during our Thursday newscasts from 4-6 p.m.
“Performances by local artists and multi-platinum artist Andy Grammer will lead up to a dazzling finale: The lighting of Playhouse Square’s new marquees and a spectacular digital installation across all the screens in the district,” according to Playhouse Square.
Grammer, who is known for hit songs like “Honey, I’m Good” and “Good To Be Alive,” is set to perform at the event from 8-9 p.m. Playhouse Square says the marquee lighting will happen around 9-9:15 p.m.

“Designed to bring the grandeur and beauty of our 100-year-old, fully-restored theaters outdoors, this next phase features dazzling new theater marquees, and technology upgrades for elements installed during the original phase of the transformation,” according to Playhouse Square. “These sensational marquees will stand as an enduring public tribute to everyone who has brought us through our first 100 years and to the bright possibilities ahead.”
Construction on the new marquees began earlier this year on March 16. Plans for the marquee upgrades were first announced nearly one year ago on Oct. 3, 2022.
