An apartment fire in North Park sent one person to a hospital on Sunday night, officials said.

The fire was reported about 7:50 p.m. at a three-story apartment complex on Iowa Street between Polk and Lincoln avenues. Firefighters found the fire in a bedroom in an apartment on the first floor, said San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Battalion Chief David Pilkerton.

Firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes and contained it to the bedroom, Pilkerton said.

One person, whose age and gender were unavailable, was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

No further information was immediately available.
